Job Description:
Role Summary: The Sr. Manager, Practice Marketing will report to practice leadership and serve as the senior marketing lead for SunState Medical Specialists (SMS). This is a high-impact individual contributor role responsible for strengthening the SMS local brand, developing and writing content, fulfilling collateral requests (including ordering and inventory as needed), supporting community events, managing social media, and overseeing the reputation management platform and online reviews. The ideal candidate combines strong digital and content marketing expertise with excellent communication skills and a passion for healthcare and community service.
Responsibilities:
Digital, Content & Social Media Marketing
Develop, write, and publish original content aligned to brand standards across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.)
Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages in a timely manner, and foster community interaction in coordination with practice leadership and in accordance with approved guidelines; do not disclose protected health information (PHI) in any response
Lead local campaigns to raise awareness of services, providers, locations, and educational content; partner with internal stakeholders and agencies as needed and obtain required reviews/approvals prior to launch
Local Brand, Collateral & Content Development
Serve as the day-to-day marketing partner for the local market, ensuring materials and messaging support the SMS local brand and growth priorities
Manage collateral requests from internal teams: intake, prioritization, drafting/copywriting, collaborating with design team, routing for approvals, and delivery
Order, track, and coordinate distribution of printed collateral and promotional materials; maintain basic inventory as needed
Write and edit marketing content including flyers, brochures, website updates, social captions, event materials, and patient/community communications
Develop and write blog content (topics, outlines, drafts) to support patient education, service line growth, and SEO; coordinate clinical/compliance reviews and approvals prior to publishing
Create and manage patient testimonial and story content (identify candidates, draft/edit copy, coordinate photo/video as available, and publish) only with appropriate written authorization/consent and in alignment with HIPAA/privacy guidelines and required review/approval processes
Website Management
Collaborate with internal website support for updates to website content (e.g. bios, services, events, announcements)
Ensure content is accurate, HIPAA-compliant, and reflects current services
Work with an agency to develop and implement SEO/SEM content
Advertising & Media Buying
Plan, execute, and optimize paid advertising programs to support SunState Medical Specialists growth goals (digital, social, search, display, and select local media as appropriate) in accordance with brand standards and required review/approval processes
Manage media buys and budgets: recommend spend allocation, coordinate placements, confirm flight dates, and ensure accurate billing and documentation
Partner with internal stakeholders and/or agencies to develop ad creative, messaging, and landing page requirements; ensure brand alignment and obtain appropriate Legal/Compliance/clinical reviews as required prior to publishing
Track performance (leads, calls, conversions, cost per result) and provide regular reporting with optimization recommendations
Maintain working knowledge of local market opportunities and advertising policies for major platforms

Reputation Management & Reviews
Monitor online reviews do not disclose PHI and escalate sensitive issues to practice leadership for service recovery
Track review trends and key themes; provide periodic insights and recommendations to improve patient experience and local reputation
Collaborate with internal digital support to ensure the accuracy and consistency of SMS profiles
Local Events & Community Outreach
Lead coordination of participation in health fairs, charity events, and other community initiatives in partnership with practice leadership
Plan and execute in-office events (e.g., awareness months, educational sessions) and support event promotion across channels
Develop and coordinate production of marketing materials (flyers, brochures, event signage), including vendor/print ordering as needed
Patient Access Center
Oversee the day-to-day management and support of Patient Access Ambassadors, (PAA) ensuring consistency in workflows, performance expectations, and patient experience
Assist with escalated patient issues related to new leads, patient concerns, etc.
Manage and support the Salesforce instance and call management platform (Five9), including user access, workflow updates, and basic troubleshooting
Coordinate with PAA’s on training and change communications related to new services, provider additions, scheduling updates, and access workflows
Monitor and report on PAC-related performance in partnership with operations (e.g., call volume, conversion, abandonment, and appointment requests) and recommend improvements
Partner with operations and practice leadership on call handling priorities, campaign routing, and service line promotions to support access and conversion goals
General Marketing Support
Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics (social media engagement, website traffic, paid media performance, event turnout, etc.)
Support SMS Physician Liaisons with marketing collateral and promotional material needs
Onboarding and offboarding physicians and advanced providers
Develop marketing calendars and collaborate with leadership on messaging
Ensure marketing initiatives (including advertising, patient outreach, and review responses) follow applicable policies and required Marketing/Legal/Compliance review and approval workflows prior to launch or distribution
Maintain relationships with local organizations and referral partners
Communications
Partner with practice leadership on internal communications (e.g., staff updates, operational announcements, and change communications) to ensure messaging is clear, timely, and aligned with SMS standards
Develop and maintain patient-facing, referrer-facing and internal messaging including scripts and talking points, FAQs, and job aids for PAC use; coordinate required clinical/compliance reviews and approvals prior to deployment
Partner with corporate support teams to develop, align, and execute external communications
Other duties as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of progressive experience in marketing/communications; healthcare experience preferred
Frequent travel within Florida required
Proficiency with social media platforms and tools (e.g., Canva, Meta Business Suite)
Familiarity with basic website content management systems (Acquia/Drupal a plus)
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects at once
Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence (individual contributor), manage stakeholders, and drive work from concept through execution
Graphic design experience is a plus
