We are seeking a versatile Marketing Specialist to contribute across a broad range of marketing activities, including campaigns, content, systems, and reporting. This is a hands-on role focused on execution and enablement, helping ensure that marketing initiatives are well coordinated, measurable, and able to scale across a global, community-driven organisation. This is a newly created role within the organisation, designed to support and scale marketing execution across the Foundation.
This role is well suited to an enthusiastic, open-minded, and self-motivated marketing professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership, and is comfortable learning new tools and workflows. The role includes operational and analytical responsibilities that help enable effective marketing, support our communities, and advance the Eclipse Foundation’s mission.
As a Marketing Specialist, you will contribute to the day-to-day execution of marketing initiatives across the Foundation and its working groups. You will work closely with marketing, membership, and community teams to help build, track, and improve campaigns, while maintaining reliable processes, usable data, and clear reporting. This is a fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in Canada.
Salary Range: $70k - $77.5k.
Responsibilities
Campaign Execution & Reporting
Support the execution of marketing campaigns across email, web, and digital channels
Assist with defining goals and success metrics for campaigns and programs
Build and maintain basic dashboards and reports to track performance and outcomes
Track, measure, and report on the results of digital marketing initiatives, and propose improvements based on data
Support campaign tracking, documentation, and operational checklists
Content, Events & Community Support
Develop and review website and digital marketing copy for clarity, consistency, and alignment with Eclipse Foundation messaging
Collaborate with marketing, membership, and working group teams to support events, launches, and engagement initiatives
Support operational aspects of community engagement initiatives, such as contributor badging and swag programs
Marketing Operations & Systems
Administer and maintain marketing automation tools such as HubSpot, including workflows, emails, forms, landing pages, lists, and segmentation
Ensure marketing data is accurate, well-organised, and usable for reporting and follow-up
Document and continuously improve marketing operations processes and workflows
Apply and support Eclipse Foundation policies, practices, and standards related to privacy, data protection, and communications
Take on additional marketing-related tasks and projects as priorities and needs evolve.
Desired skills and experience
We are looking for a capable, motivated marketing professional with a generalist mindset and a strong sense of ownership. The ideal candidate brings a balance of execution skills, curiosity, and the ability to work effectively across multiple areas of marketing in a collaborative, distributed environment.
You may be a strong fit if you bring a mix of the following:
3+ years of relevant experience in marketing, marketing operations, digital marketing, or a related role
Demonstrated ability to execute marketing initiatives independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision
Experience working with marketing automation platforms, analytics tools, or campaign reporting, or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn
Google Analytics 4 certification or hands-on experience, including comfort working with modern, AI-assisted analytics and reporting tools
Comfort using data and tools to support execution, reporting, and continuous improvement
Practical understanding of generative AI tools, including basic prompt engineering to support research, analysis, content creation, or workflow efficiency
Strong written communication skills, with attention to clarity, consistency, and tone
Curiosity and openness to learning new platforms, workflows, and approaches
Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across distributed teams
Positive, service-oriented approach and a collegial, professional working style
Alignment with the Eclipse Foundation’s values of service, respect, collegiality, and professionalism
