Salary: $45,000–$55,000 annually DOE

Position Overview

We are scaling at an exciting pace, and projected to reach 30 locations by 2027, and need someone who’s comfortable rolling up their sleeves to assist in almost every aspect of marketing as we grow and continue to build the department and organization. All while gaining valuable industry experience from leadership mentors with decades of experience.
The Marketing Operations Specialist plays a key role in implementing localized marketing strategies, leading field marketing execution, and improving operational marketing systems across multiple club locations.
This position is responsible for managing marketing initiatives tied to new club openings, acquisitions, and regional campaigns. The role requires independent decision-making, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure marketing initiatives are effectively executed and aligned with company growth objectives.
The Marketing Operations Specialist serves as a bridge between marketing leadership, field teams, and external partners, helping translate marketing strategy into measurable business results.
Position Summary
The Marketing Operations Specialist owns the coordination, implementation, and optimization of regional marketing initiatives. This role evaluates local market opportunities, manages marketing resources, oversees vendor relationships, and ensures marketing campaigns are executed effectively across assigned projects and locations.
The position blends remote operational planning with on-site leadership during major marketing initiatives, club openings, and community activations. Success in this role requires strong organizational leadership, the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives, and sound judgment in executing marketing strategies within established brand and business guidelines.
It is basically the Swiss Army knife of marketing, part street team spark plug, part behind the scenes operations hero, part road warrior with a laptop.
Key Responsibilities
New Gym Openings & Acquisitions
- Lead implementation and localized adaptation of marketing strategies for new club openings and acquisitions while maintaining brand consistency.
- Evaluate local market trends and recommend marketing tactics, promotional strategies, and outreach opportunities to support membership growth.
- Manage project timelines, marketing resource allocation, and vendor coordination for opening and acquisition marketing initiatives.
- Oversee development, customization, and deployment of signage, graphics, and in-club marketing materials.
- Select and manage vendors from approved partner networks, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely execution of deliverables.
- Navigate compliance requirements related to signage, permits, and marketing materials by exercising judgment in regulatory processes and timelines.
- Monitor campaign effectiveness and recommend adjustments to improve performance and return on marketing investment.
Local Events & Community Outreach
- Support marketing presentation, brand execution, and logistical coordination during community activations and promotional events.
- Analyze event performance metrics and recommend future engagement strategies based on results and market feedback.
- Maintain inventory of marketing and event supplies
Marketing Operations & Process Optimization
- Manage marketing project workflows and prioritize initiatives across multiple concurrent campaigns and club locations.
- Maintain and improve marketing operational systems, asset management processes, and workflow efficiencies.
- Review and approve routine marketing expenditures within designated authority levels and recommend budget adjustments based on performance and project needs.
- Analyze marketing campaign data and operational performance to provide actionable insights and improvement recommendations.
- Serve as a liaison between marketing leadership, field operations, and external vendors to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Recommend and implement process improvements that increase marketing efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
Field Marketing Leadership & Travel Support
- Represent the marketing department as a field lead during club openings, acquisitions, and major marketing initiatives.
- Direct on-site marketing execution, vendor performance, and brand presentation standards.
- Evaluate field marketing results and provide strategic recommendations to improve future campaign performance and operational consistency.
Scope of Authority & Decision Making
- Exercises independent judgment when implementing localized marketing initiatives and operational improvements.
- Prioritizes marketing projects and allocates resources based on business needs, timelines, and performance objectives.
- Recommends marketing strategies, vendor utilization, event participation, and operational enhancements.
- Operates with general direction from marketing leadership while maintaining ownership of assigned initiatives and measurable outcomes.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience managing marketing projects, campaigns, or operational marketing initiatives preferred
- Experience coordinating vendors, marketing campaigns, or event-based marketing initiatives
- Strong organizational leadership and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and execution quality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience with Canva or similar marketing design tools preferred
- Ability to analyze marketing performance metrics and make strategic recommendations
- Willingness to travel and support field marketing initiatives
- Valid driver’s license
- Comfortable working remotely and independently managing assigned projects
