POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Director of Marketing & Communications is a key leadership role responsible for shaping and amplifying the HACE brand, growing our national network, and guiding the marketing team to achieve organizational goals. This position oversees all marketing, communications, and membership engagement initiatives, ensuring strategies are inclusive, impactful, and aligned with HACE's mission. The Director reports to the Chief of Staff and will work closely with other senior leaders. Some evening or weekend work may be required to support events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and oversee the marketing and communications team, fostering professional growth and an inclusive, collaborative culture.
- Develop and implement strategic marketing and communications plans that support HACE's mission and long-term goals.
- Oversee content ideation, creation, and execution across channels, ensuring messaging aligns with organizational priorities and values.
- Manage marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and tracking ROI for campaigns and initiatives.
Marketing Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns to grow membership, event registrations, and overall engagement.
- Optimize digital marketing strategies, including social media, paid advertising, SEO, email marketing, and website content, to increase visibility and member acquisition.
- Analyze marketing performance, prioritize channels, and make data-informed decisions to maximize impact.
- Oversee creation and distribution of marketing materials, including e-blasts, social content, videos, graphics, and print collateral.
Event Management and Communication:
- Support planning and execution of virtual and in-person events, including annual summits, career fairs, and other programs.
- Lead marketing for event registration, promotion, and engagement before, during, and after events.
- Manage content for event platforms, social media coverage, blogs, and HACE's podcast, ensuring inclusive representation and storytelling.
Public Relations and Partnerships:
- Serve as primary contact for media and PR partners; develop and distribute press releases and communications materials.
- Build and maintain partnerships with media, corporate, and community organizations to expand reach and brand visibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5-7+ years of experience leading marketing teams, with demonstrated expertise in digital marketing, communications, and advertising.
- Proven experience in developing and managing budgets to support marketing strategies and organizational goals.
- Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
- Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with website CMS (e.g., WordPress), email marketing tools (MailChimp, HubSpot), event platforms (Hopin, Eventbrite), and social media management tools.
- Experience planning and executing events, campaigns, and integrated marketing initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; public speaking experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, entrepreneurial, and comfortable with minimal direction.
- Familiarity with basic design tools (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint, PDF).
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus but not required.

Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000
