Serves as a key member of the Farmer Mac’s Marketing and Communications team, with full accountability for project management and implementation of the firm’s marketing and communications programs, strategies, tactics, including advertising, email, social media, website, collateral, and metrics reports.

The position will report directly to the Vice President - Marketing and Corporate Communications and liaison with members of the Marketing & Communications team, internal stakeholders from various departments and external stakeholders as needed.
Where and When You Will Work
Farmer Mac embraces a Presence with Purpose work environment, which allows for flexibility of work location while providing the opportunity for teams to come together in the office with purpose. The position can be based anywhere in the continental U.S. Farmer Mac headquarters are in Washington, D.C., and has a second location in Johnston, Iowa. Core business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 p.m. eastern time. Work outside of these times may be required for planned and unplanned activities to complete time sensitive projects or to attend off-site meetings or events. Periodic travel also may be expected of this position to meet with internal and external stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Implement and project manage social media posts, advertising and email campaigns, track results and recommend adjustments as appropriate.
- Project manage the development and updates of a variety of collateral including fact sheets, one-pagers, presentation slides and brochures.
- Update the company’s external corporate website as necessary.
- Implement and project manage all marketing related data in Salesforce, track results and recommend adjustments as appropriate.
- Implement and project manage Marketing & Communications metrics reports and recommend adjustments as appropriate.
- Manage general inquiries, filtering, and redirecting questions to the appropriate functional area representative.
- Develop and maintain a calendar for all marketing and communications activities, track results and recommend adjustments as appropriate.
- Work with the organization, as well as with outside vendors, including writers and graphic designers, to deliver marketing materials to internal and external customers within agreed-on business specifications and timelines.

- Organizational and project management skills.
- Beginning to intermediate graphic design capacity and experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Cloud Suite and HubSpot.
- Experience using LinkedIn campaign management tools.
- Ability to work with technology and grasp new concepts quickly.
- Strong attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Possess a willingness to step in and support team members with their tasks.
- Must have proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Flexibility and ability to work on several projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal, people management and teamwork skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or Marketing. Other related areas of study or equivalent work experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in a marketing or communications role.
- Familiarity with agricultural industry preferred.

The typical starting salary range for this position is between $75,00–$100,00, although wages can vary based on experience and geography.
