JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President of Marketing serves on Gather’s Senior Leadership Team and reports directly to the CEO. This role exists to architect and lead the global growth engine of the movement.

The VP of Marketing is responsible for shaping and executing a unified marketing and growth strategy that moves people from awareness to engagement to long term participation and generosity. This includes broad appeal fundraising, event registration and ticket sales, audience growth, monthly donor conversion, and global digital expansion.

This leader brings both spiritual discernment and technical excellence, pairing compelling movement storytelling with disciplined funnel strategy, CRM mastery, and data driven execution. The VP of Marketing will oversee a growing internal team, lead and coordinate multiple global agencies and partners, and collaborate closely with Development, Events, and Operations to ensure Gather’s message and mission scale with clarity, urgency, and integrity.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Serve on the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organization-wide strategy and ensuring marketing is fully aligned with Gather’s mission, growth goals, and theological convictions.
  • Translate the long term vision of Gather into clear marketing priorities, annual plans, and executable roadmaps.

Marketing Growth and Funnel Strategy

  • Design and oversee a comprehensive global marketing strategy that grows awareness, engagement, and generosity across Gather’s ecosystem.
  • Build and optimize full funnel pathways that move audiences from first touch to active participation and monthly donor commitment.
  • Ensure marketing strategy supports major initiatives including Gather events, city movements, discipleship products, and broad appeal fundraising campaigns.

CRM, Data, and Performance Ownership

  • Own and leverage Gather’s CRM and marketing automation systems, including HubSpot, to drive segmentation, personalization, reporting, and conversion optimization.
  • Establish clear KPIs across acquisition, engagement, conversion, and retention, using data to inform strategy and continuously improve performance.
  • Partner closely with Development to align donor journeys, reporting, and lifetime value strategy.

Fundraising and Generosity Campaigns

  • Lead the marketing strategy for broad appeal fundraising efforts, including digital campaigns that inspire generosity tied to eternal impact.
  • Collaborate with Development to clearly articulate “your gift makes this possible” outcomes and translate them into compelling donor facing messaging and funnels.
  • Support the growth of monthly giving as a key engine for sustaining the movement.

Movement Storytelling and Brand Stewardship

  • Champion a unified brand voice that reflects the urgency, hope, and shared ownership of revival.
  • Ensure Gather’s story consistently communicates that the movement grows when each of us says yes and plays our part.
  • Oversee content strategy across platforms to amplify testimonies, gospel impact, and global momentum.

Team and Agency Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and empower a high performing Marketing Team with clarity, accountability, and trust.
  • Direct and coordinate multiple external agencies, creative partners, and vendors across regions and disciplines.
  • Ensure internal and external teams are aligned around shared goals, timelines, and outcomes.

Distribution and Partnership Leverage

  • Identify and activate strategic distribution partners including churches, networks, platforms, media partners, and influencers to exponentially expand reach.
  • Design campaigns and partnerships that expand reach beyond Gather-owned channels and drive exponential growth in audience engagement.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated senior level leadership experience in marketing, growth, or communications within a nonprofit, ministry, or mission driven organization.
  • Proven success building and scaling digital funnels that drive conversion, engagement, and recurring giving.
  • Deep working knowledge of CRM and marketing automation platforms, including HubSpot.
  • Experience leading multi person teams and managing complex agency ecosystems across regions or disciplines.
  • Strong grasp of digital analytics, performance marketing, storytelling, and audience growth strategy.
  • Experience leveraging partnerships and distribution channels to significantly expand reach.
  • Cross cultural or global marketing experience strongly preferred.
