About the Role
We're looking for a Tradeshow & Events Manager to join Semgrep's growing Event Marketing team. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Events, this IC role is built for someone who thrives on execution ownership, taking a defined events calendar and strategy and driving it flawlessly from kickoff to post-show results.
You'll be the operational engine behind Semgrep's third-party tradeshow and conference program, owning end-to-end execution and building the processes that make our presence scalable and repeatable. You'll collaborate closely with the Head of Global Events on experience design and positioning, then take the wheel on bringing it to life, including the hosted dinners, side events, and on-site activations that make our conference footprint more than just a booth. You understand revenue marketing goals, and see yourself as a key contributor to pipeline outcomes, taking pride in execution that directly moves the business forward.
Location expectations:
Our hope is you will be based out of San Francisco or New York City. For the right candidate, we’re willing to be flexible to states we hire in.
Please Note: For US-based roles open to remote work, we are currently able to hire employees in the following states only: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
What You'll Do
Tradeshow & Exhibit Execution (Primary Ownership)
Own end-to-end execution of Semgrep's presence at third-party tradeshows and conferences across a global calendar from contract handoff through booth logistics, staffing, on-site management, and post-show wrap
For Tier 1 events such as RSA, Black Hat, and AWS re:Invent, manage the full scope of Semgrep's on-site footprint beyond the booth, including hosted dinners and side events, hotel room block management, swag production and fulfillment, badge scanning and lead capture setup, sponsored speaking coordination, and partner or co-marketing logistics
Collaborate with the Head of Global Events on booth experience and design direction, then own all execution: vendor coordination, production timelines, asset management, and on-site delivery
Build and maintain the processes, playbooks, and operational frameworks that make our tradeshow program consistent and scalable as the calendar grows
Manage all exhibit and event-related vendor relationships, ie: exhibit houses, AV, swag vendors, hotels, restaurants, and shipping and logistics partners, negotiating contracts and holding partners to quality and cost targets
Own pre-show and post-show coordination with Sales and SDR, including staffing logistics, booth briefings, lead capture setup, and follow-up sequencing
Hosted & First-Party Event Execution
Plan and execute Semgrep-hosted programming within third-party conference footprints, including customer and prospect dinners, side events, and on-site activations tied to Tier 1 shows like RSA, Black Hat, and AWS re:Invent
Own end-to-end logistics for hosted events: venue sourcing and contracting, guest list management, catering, AV, run-of-show, and on-site execution
Bring the same operational rigor to hosted programming as to the booth, ensuring every touchpoint within a conference footprint feels intentional and on-brand
Contribute meaningfully to Semgrep's inaugural user conference in 2026, supporting the Head of Global Events on logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site execution for what will be the company's largest owned event to date
Revenue Outcomes & Cross-Functional Execution
Deeply understand Semgrep's revenue marketing goals and how the events program contributes to pipeline and growth. Your execution directly impacts those outcomes
Bring deep expertise in how tradeshows contribute to pipeline and revenue, and partner with the Head of Global Events to define realistic, meaningful KPIs for each event, then track performance against them and report results with clear insights on what's working and where to improve
Act as the primary cross-functional executor across Marketing, Sales, SDR, and Product Marketing coordinating logistics, messaging alignment, and stakeholder readiness for every event
Drive pre- and post-show pipeline follow-through in close partnership with Sales and SDR, ensuring booth and event investment translates to leads and engaged pipeline
Budget & Operations
Manage event budgets with precision, forecasting spend, tracking actuals, and flagging risks early
Contribute to the broader events operating model: tooling, process documentation, and team best practices
You are ideal for this role is you have
5–8 years of B2B event marketing experience with deep, hands-on ownership of tradeshow and conference execution
Proven ability to build processes and playbooks from scratch to create structure where none exists
Strong operational range: you can manage multiple high-stakes events simultaneously without losing detail or quality
Experience running hosted programming within conference footprints, ie: dinners, side events, and activations, not just booth execution
Subject matter expertise in how tradeshows drive pipeline. You know what good looks like, from lead benchmarks to post-show conversion
Experience working directly with Sales and SDR teams to drive pre- and post-show follow-through and pipeline generation
Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills across exhibit houses, AV, hotels, restaurants, and event logistics
Excellent cross-functional communicator. You align stakeholders across functions and keep everyone moving in the same direction
Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure in a fast-moving environment
Familiarity with developer tools, security, or infrastructure software audiences is a strong plus
Willingness to travel (~25–30%) to attend and staff events globally
Experience contributing to large-scale owned events or user conferences is a plus
