About Kadince


Kadince (pronounced cadence) is a fully remote (must live in the USA) software company founded in 2013. In a nutshell, we build tools to help compliance and marketing professionals at financial institutions do their jobs more efficiently.


Kadince has been profitable for several years (we’re fans of making more than we spend). We’re bootstrapped, which means we don’t have investors. So our owners answer to no one. And they aren’t just giving us commands from their vacation homes waiting to cash their next check. They’re fellow team members and in the trenches with us. 


Why We’re Hiring


There are around 10,000 financial institutions in the US. At Kadince, we’re working to help as many of them as possible better manage and track their marketing and compliance efforts. We’ve only scratched the surface.


We want to give every financial institution in the country a chance to hear our story and see if we’re a good fit for their needs (we obviously think we are). In order to keep up with our outreach goals, we need another person on our marketing team.


Who We Want to Hire


To be the Strategic Partnerships Marketing Manager at Kadince, you should have 4+ years of experience in B2B marketing, partnerships, event marketing, or related roles (preferably in SaaS, financial services, or highly regulated industries). You should have experience building and managing external partnerships, plus strong relationship-building and communication skills. You’re able to manage multiple projects at once and pivot quickly, all while maintaining high quality and follow-through. 


You have a desire to continually learn and improve your marketing and communication skills. We love giving team members opportunities to improve their skills, whether through online courses, workshops, or learning from others.

Our Vision and Mission


Our vision and mission aren’t something we hung on the office wall and forgot about. Seriously, we don’t have an office, let alone a wall to hang them on. But our vision, mission, and core values sit on the desks of each of our team members. And we discuss them regularly in our meetings. Your goals and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) will be developed to ensure you’re working to help us achieve our vision and mission.


Our vision and mission are what get us up each morning. They, in addition to our core values, help us make decisions. 


Vision - Setting the standard for operating a great software company.


We’re big fans of author Jim Collins and his best-selling book, Good to Great (bonus points if you’ve read it). While there are lots of good software companies out there, we want to be one of the great ones.


The first word of our vision is also significant. To go “high school English class” on you, the present participle “setting” illustrates that we’re not looking to set the standard and then be done, but that the standard is always moving and we’re always chasing it. We continually stop to recognize the awesome things we’ve done and then look for ways to do them even better. 


Mission - Building the best software for compliance and marketing professionals at financial institutions.


As Jim Collins taught in his Hedgehog Concept (told you we think he’s great—pun intended), great companies need to determine what they can be the best at in the world and focus on that. There are so many things we could solve as a software company, but we’ve found what we think we can be the best in the world at and we stick to it every day.

What a Day in the Life of a Strategic Partnerships Marketing Manager Looks Like


You start your day by checking Slack and email messages. That state association contact responded to your last email with some times that work for them to meet, so you create a calendar invite for later this week and spend a little time creating an agenda for the meeting. 


Now you take time to build next month’s LinkedIn strategy. You’re in charge of the strategy for both the Kadince LinkedIn accounts and a few of our leadership team’s accounts. You come up with ideas, and then pass it off to the Digital Marketing and Content Manger to execute. 


Mid-morning is time for a Marketing team meeting, so you hop on Zoom and discuss upcoming projects, current statuses, and how each member of the team can support the others. Everything is running smoothly, so you spend the last few minutes of the meeting catching up and laughing as a team. 


For lunch, you decide to meet a friend at the park for a quick picnic. You grab the sandwiches, they grab the drinks, and you let your puppy run around the park to her heart’s content. Your friend has to run back to the office, but you spend a few extra minutes soaking in the sun.


Back at work, you spend some time creating a content brief that will be sent to a third-party design firm. The Marketing team is working on a fun gift for customers, and it’s your job to coordinate with your team and the design agency to create the flyer for it. 


Next you have a Marketing + Sales meeting where your team meets with the Director of Sales to discuss upcoming initiatives and see if there’s anything either team can do to help the other. Sales has a few flyer requests and an idea for a potential webinar, so your team assigns tasks and determines next steps. After the meeting, you reach out to the potential webinar guest and set up a meeting to discuss how doing a webinar together might look. 


You take care of a few outstanding tasks, but there’s nothing else pressing for the afternoon. When it’s time to leave work, you glance at your calendar for tomorrow and plan accordingly. Now you close your laptop and your office day and take your cute puppy for a run. Another wonderful day’s work down!


When and Where You’d Work and What You’d Work On


Kadince is a principle-based company, which means we focus on principles, not policies. You’ll work with your leader, Bryce Larsen, each week to review your goals/KPI and what you’ve been working on. You’ll meet regularly with the Marketing team and other departments to keep projects on track and ensure that goals/KPIs are being reached.


As the Strategic Partnerships Marketing Manager, you’ll also work regularly with external partners, including industry conference contacts, state associations, and other companies in our space. While we aren’t super particular about when and where you work, you’ll need to work around the schedules of other team members and external partners to ensure that projects stay on track and nothing falls through the cracks. Overall, your schedule needs to help you achieve our vision and mission and demonstrate our core values. 


At Kadince, work won’t tie you down to one location. You’ll have the flexibility to work remotely and even change locations from time to time. Want to spend a few weeks somewhere new—maybe exploring a different state or another country? That’s totally possible, as long as it’s approved by HR ahead of time to make sure everything’s good from a legal and tax standpoint. Just make sure that wherever you plan to work has a reliable internet connection of at least 10 Mbps download and 1-2 Mbps upload (as if you would go anywhere without it anyway).


Who You’d Be Working With


We have over 50 team members (which makes us really happy since Kadince was started by two people in their basements). If hired, you’ll probably work with each team member in one way or another. Some of the people you’ll work with most frequently are:


Bryce is our Director of Marketing, and the rest of the team swears he’s never in the same place twice. Bryce loves to travel, and he takes full advantage of the Kadince remote work policy. He’s been to every continent except Antarctica, but he’s hoping to cross even that off soon. Bryce grew up in a small Idaho town full of potato farmers, and he’s eaten enough potatoes for one lifetime, thank you very much. Bryce enjoys solving problems and wants to make our brand one that people love and respect. 


Jaidyn is the Digital Marketing and Content Manager, so she’s in charge of all the content we produce. She writes everything for Kadince (including this job description!), which means she’s very particular about grammar, spelling, and all that boring stuff. The weirdest thing about Jaidyn is that she hates chocolate. (Yes, she just called herself weird. Might as well embrace it.) Jaidyn’s favorite part of her job is getting to improve her writing skills and practice all day long. 


Stephanie is our Marketing Project and Event Manager, which means she handles various tasks and operations, plans events, and sends gifts to our customers/prospects. Her days are never quite the same! Stephanie eats cereal in two separate bowls (one for milk and one for cereal). She gets a spoonful of cereal and dips it into the milk. At first, we all thought this was pretty strange, but after seeing a video demonstration, we have to admit that it makes some sense. Maybe we should all be eating cereal like this…
