The Opportunity

This is a company-shaping leadership role – a highly visible leadership role shaping the foundation of how we grow our existing products and build new ones. You’ll lead the analytics strategy and development, and define how analytics influence product, growth, marketing, and financial decisions. You’ll build and scale analytics teams aligned with product and marketing, establish clear KPI ownership, and partner directly with executive leaders to improve decision quality.

What You’ll Build and Own

  • Set the multi-quarter strategy for Product, Growth, and Marketing Analytics, aligning analytical and data science investment to the company’s highest-leverage priorities.

  • Lead ideation and collaborate with Product, Eng to enable fast iteration for building new products.

  • Guide teams to use AI agents to accelerate development, testing, and documentation

  • Define and govern org-wide KPIs that connect product usage, growth efficiency, revenue, and member outcomes.

  • Build and scale a high-performing analytics organization within a 50-person Data & AI org, developing managers and creating clear growth paths for analysts.

  • Establish strong experimentation standards — including governance, prioritization, and decision frameworks that balance speed and rigor.

  • Partner closely with Product, Growth, Marketing, Finance, and Data Engineering to ensure analytics is embedded, trusted, and actionable.

  • Elevate storytelling and executive communication so complex insights translate into clear business decisions.

  • Partnership with engineering teams to leverage platform for maximum speed and quality

The Impact

Your work will directly shape how Dave invests capital, improves products, builds new products, and delivers better financial outcomes to members. Strong analytics here doesn’t just measure progress — it influences direction.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Technical Foundation

  • 12+ years in analytics, data science, or quantitative strategy roles.

  • 5+ years leading and scaling managers and multi-team analytics organizations.

  • Proven experience defining KPI frameworks and experimentation standards at company scale.

  • Track record of influencing VP and C-level leaders on roadmap, investment, or P&L decisions.

  • Deep understanding of growth, product, and marketing measurement in data-rich environments.

  • Experience partnering closely with Data Engineering on scalable, trustworthy infrastructure.

  • Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field is strongly preferred.

Bonus:

  • Experience in fintech, banking, credit, or payments.

What Makes Someone Successful Here

You take responsibility for outcomes. You prioritize where analytics creates the most business value, especially when demand exceeds capacity. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and know how to translate broad business questions into clear frameworks. You balance speed with durability, knowing when to move quickly and when rigor matters more. You improve systems, not just deliver insights.

You also build leaders. You invest in developing managers, create clarity around standards, and hold a high bar with empathy. You partner across functions without operating as a service desk. You connect the dots across product, growth, finance, and member impact — and help others do the same. Feedback sharpens your thinking, and you foster that mindset across your organization.

What to Expect

We operate in a fully remote environment with high autonomy and strong accountability. Priorities evolve as data and market conditions change. You’ll have executive visibility and meaningful influence — and the responsibility that comes with it. Decisions are grounded in data, but strengthened through collaboration.

Why Join Dave

  • Direct influence on company-wide strategy and investment decisions.

  • Real ownership over team design, tooling evolution, and analytical direction.

  • A mission that improves financial outcomes for millions of members.

  • Executive sponsorship and backing from Data & AI leadership.

  • The opportunity to build a durable, modern analytics function at scale.
