SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager, Marketing Operations is responsible for building and maintaining the operational backbone of the GII Marketing and Communications (MarCom) department. This role provides the systems, structure, and discipline required to support a modern, high-performing marketing organization, including ensuring work is planned, prioritized, resourced, executed, and measured effectively.
This role oversees core operational functions including project management support, workflow and SOP development, budget and resource management, vendor and contract oversight, and special projects. By driving clarity, consistency, and transparency across the Marcom department, the Senior Manager enables the teams to move faster, deliver higher-quality work, and execute with greater efficiency for the benefit of both the department and the broader GII organization.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Manager, Marketing Operations leads the processes, systems, and governance that enable effective marketing execution across GII. This role is accountable for establishing operational standards that support project delivery, ongoing marketing activities, and cross-functional initiatives, all in a way that brings rigor to how marcom work flows through the organization.
A core function of this role is supporting planning, prioritization, and execution across by providing project management frameworks, resourcing visibility, and operational oversight. The Senior Manager partners closely with marketing leadership, functional teams, finance, legal, IT, and external vendors to make sure projects are moving forward efficiently.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Frequent interaction with marcom leadership and teams, and other GII stakeholders including finance, legal, and IT.
Goodwill Members: Periodic engagement as needed to support executional alignment and operational practices.
External: Ongoing coordination with agencies, vendors, and other service providers.
SKILLS NEEDED:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, information systems, or related field required. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CRM/MA admin, analytics, PMP/Lean) a plus.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing operations, project management, or related roles, with demonstrated responsibility for managing workflows, budgets, vendors, cross-functional initiatives, and coordination of critical projects. Experience supporting senior leaders and complex organizations preferred.
DECISION MAKING: Responsible for operational decisions related to workflow design, prioritization processes, budget tracking, vendor oversight, and execution standards.
SUPERVISION: No direct supervision but with latitude to establish operational standards and manage day-to-day execution support.
PHYSICAL EFFORT & TRAVEL: Generally sedentary; occasional travel for team meetings, vendor sessions, or training may be required
