The Opportunity


SkiftX is Skift’s in-house sponsored content studio, delivering best-in-class multi-platform content marketing programs for Skift’s flagship brand, in addition to our sibling brands Airline Weekly, Skift Meetings, Skift Advisory, Women Leading Travel, and Daily Lodging Report. The studio’s work is helping define how the travel industry speaks to its stakeholders, clients, and partners, both externally and internally.


SkiftX is looking for a full-time Senior Manager, Marketing and Events with a strong hybrid background in both event management and digital marketing. The role focuses first and foremost on the logistics and strategy needed to produce great events, along with a secondary focus on production, digital marketing, and performance reporting for Skift’s written content projects for sponsors.


The right individual will possess a background with prior skills creating and managing partner activations at corporate events, experience with client management, and a superior knowledge of marketing best practices for promoting content online to support the team’s work executing successful sponsorship programs for partners. This position is remote/WFH, with preference for those located anywhere within the continental US.



Skift is a fully distributed, remote company with employees based across the globe. This position is remote and requires a high level of coordination and communication skills to be successful. You must be able to work independently, meet goals, set tasks in a timely manner, join meetings via video, and periodically work outside normal company hours for special events or projects.


Some of What You'll Do

  • Partner with Skift’s Associate Director, Operations and Events to lead event logistics, setup and onsite management of sponsor activations at Skift Live events 
  • Manage invitations and logistics for in-person small group VIP gatherings at Skift events, including dinners, roundtables, and breakout sessions
  • Assist SkiftX Content Director and Editors with setup, promotion and launch of longform reports and webinars (registration pages, lead capture forms)
  • Oversee promotion for Skift’s sponsored content via Skift’s email newsletters and paid and organic posting to social media accounts on LinkedIn, Instagram and X
  • Lead analytics, performance tracking and campaign reporting for sponsored content programs and event sponsorships
  • Collaborate with Skift’s Sales team to handle sponsor requests and questions related to content performance
  • Work with SkiftX’s Project Manager to coordinate marketing calendar for upcoming sponsor content launches
  • Other tasks as required

The Experience You Bring 

  • Excellent communication and copywriting skills: Experience drafting attention-grabbing marketing and promotional email copy, social media post content, correspondence with clients, and event invites 
  • Experience working with clients, managing client relationships and feedback. Ideally from a role in PR, marketing, event marketing, or content marketing.
  • Execution-focused mindset: ability to turn client requests into actionable tasks and communicate those requests to other Skift teams including Marketing, Event Programming, Sales, and Design
  • Fluency in English; an ability to speak and write in conversational and professional English in a nuanced way, free of grammar or spelling errors 
  • Proven experience in a high-output, fast-moving, environment such as digital marketing company, ad agency, and/or a branded content studio at a media company 
  • Experience with WordPress, HubSpot, Parse.ly Analytics, Google Drive Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets), Basecamp
  • Familiarity with CRM software, audience targeting strategies, and campaign management on Hubspot a plus
