Senior Event Marketing Manager (Contract)
Term: 4-months to start, 30-40hrs/wk. Potential to convert to full-time in the future based on performance and business needs
Location: Flexible, US based. SF or NYC preferred
Compensation: $60-75/hr
Background
Listen Labs is an AI-powered research platform that helps teams uncover insights from customer interviews in hours, not months. We help customers analyze conversations, surface themes, and make faster, smarter product decisions.
Company highlights — entirely product-led:
World-Class Team: Founded by serial entrepreneurs (previous AI exit), former co-founders, and talent from Jane Street, Twitter, Stripe, Affirm, Bain, Goldman Sachs, and many more Sequoia-backed startups (plus IOI/ICPC backgrounds).
Hypergrowth: We're a fast-growing team backed by top-tier investors that's grown several-fold in the past year, and we're set on multiplying that again. We move fast, care deeply about craft, and love working with people who take ownership.
Traction: Rapid growth across segments with enterprise wins at Google, Microsoft, Nestlé, and P&G.
Performance: Industry-leading win rate driven by a highly differentiated product.
Market Validation: Consistently winning customers across all segments with over six-figure lands that lead to quick expansions.
Viral Product: Interviews are shared with tens of thousands of viewers, fueling PLG, organic expansion, and daily inbound from Fortune 500s.
About the Role
We're looking for a Contract Senior Event Marketing Manager to own and elevate how Listen shows up at events, from intimate dinners with researchers to our presence at various industry conferences. This is a high-ownership role for someone who loves the craft of bringing people together, sweats the operational details, and knows that a great event is felt long before and after the doors open.
You'll partner closely with marketing, sales, product, design, and leadership to make sure every event tells a coherent story and meaningfully moves our relationship with the research community forward.
Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end execution of Listen's presence at a slate of industry conferences over the contract period, including strategy, logistics, vendors, onsite, and follow-through
Design event experiences (sponsorships, dinners, side events, brand activations) that attract the right audience, generate genuine excitement, and leave a lasting impression
Partner cross-functionally with sales, product marketing, design, and leadership to ensure events ladder up to our broader campaigns and GTM goals
Manage the operational backbone, e.g. timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, swag, staffing, run-of-show, with a level of polish that makes everything look effortless
Capture learnings after each event and feed them back into how we plan the next one
About you:
4+ years running B2B events, with a track record of owning events end-to-end
Strong project management instincts. You build the plan, hold the timeline, and don't let details slip
Comfortable in ambiguity and at a startup pace; happy to roll up your sleeves on the unglamorous parts
Excellent taste. You understand how events feel, not just how they run
Experience working alongside sales and marketing to drive pipeline and brand outcomes from events
Bonus: experience in B2B SaaS, with researcher / designer / PM audiences, or with research conferences specifically
