Summary of the Role

The Senior Director of Enterprise Marketing owns and leads Core States Group's enterprise marketing strategy and execution and advances how the company is understood by clients, employees, recruits, industry partners, and future acquisition partners.

This is a senior enterprise leadership role with responsibility for how Core States shows up in the market, how clearly we communicate what makes us different, and how effectively marketing supports growth, employee connection, recruiting, and long-term brand strength.

Core States' North Star is to be the Obvious Choice for clients, employees, future employees, and future acquisition partners. This role exists to help make that real.

Reporting to the Vice President of Growth, this leader will develop and execute marketing initiatives that strengthen market positioning, support revenue growth, enhance employee engagement, elevate the talent brand, and reinforce Core States' reputation as the industry's Obvious Choice.

The right leader will understand that brand is shaped by what people experience. Marketing must help tell the Core States story clearly while staying connected to the way the business grows, serves clients, supports employees, and expands into new opportunities.

The Senior Director will partner closely with the Vice President of Growth, CEO, COO, VP of Human Resources, market leaders, Client Leads, and the senior leadership team to ensure marketing investments align with business priorities and company strategy. This role requires a strategic leader who can balance long-term brand development with practical business impact while building a scalable marketing function that supports continued growth.

The reporting structure keeps Marketing closely connected to growth, business development, revenue growth, market positioning, and pursuit activity, while recognizing that the role must also support broader company priorities, including employee communication, talent brand, enterprise reputation, and future acquisition partner visibility.

This leader is expected to have a voice across the business. They must be able to challenge leaders constructively on message clarity, brand consistency, market positioning, client-facing materials, employee-facing communication, and the quality of how Core States presents itself internally and externally.

Enterprise Marketing Strategy

  • Own and Lead the enterprise marketing strategy for Core States, aligning marketing with company growth objectives, business lines, markets, and client priorities.
  • Translate business strategy into focused marketing priorities, messaging, campaigns, and execution plans.

  • Establish clear priorities to maximize marketing’s impact on client growth, talent attraction, employee engagement, and brand reputation.
  • Help leadership define where marketing can create the greatest impact across client growth, employee connection, recruiting, and enterprise reputation.

  • Clearer positioning around Core States' integrated model and market strategy.
  • Stronger employee understanding of company direction and priorities.
  • Improved internal communication and company-wide connection.

Qualifications

We are looking for a senior marketing leader with strong enterprise judgment, commercial awareness, and the ability to lead both strategy and execution. The right person can connect brand, growth, communications, recruiting, and employee engagement while influencing senior leaders without relying only on formal authority.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant marketing leadership experience, preferably in a complex B2B, professional services, or multi-market environment.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise marketing strategies that support growth and business objectives.
  • Experience leading and developing marketing, communications, brand, creative, or related teams.
  • Strong business judgment and commercial instinct.
  • Clear writing, messaging, and storytelling ability, with strong visual and brand standards.
  • Ability to translate strategy into simple, useful language and create messaging that leaders, clients, employees, recruits, and partners can understand.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders, challenge constructively, and operate with leadership presence, high standards, and low ego.
  • Comfort working in a complex, fast-moving business with multiple internal and external audiences.
  • Curiosity about markets, clients, competitors, employees, and growth opportunities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with business development, operations, HR, and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AEC, construction, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, energy, or another technical professional services industry.
  • Experience supporting business development, client pursuits, proposals, and market growth initiatives.
  • Experience with employer branding, internal communications, M&A, enterprise communications, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience leveraging AI, marketing technology, and data-driven approaches to improve marketing effectiveness and scalability in multi-region, multi-service-line organizations.

Leadership Qualifications

  • The Senior Director of Enterprise Marketing must lead with clarity, judgment, and accountability.
  • This person must be comfortable working with strong leaders across the company. They need to listen well and bring a clear point of view. They should be willing to challenge unclear messaging, weak positioning, inconsistent brand use, and materials that do not meet the standard.
  • They must understand that the marketing team serves the business and that the business also needs strong marketing leadership.
  • Because this role reports through Growth while serving broader enterprise needs, the Senior Director must operate with good judgment, strong communication, and clear alignment with leadership. They must keep the Vice President of Growth closely informed while also building direct working relationships across the business.
  • This role requires someone who can build on what is already working, raise the ceiling of the function, and help Core States tell a clearer story as the company grows.
