Workiva is seeking a Product Marketing Director, Sustainability (North America) to own and drive the go-to-market (GTM) strategy of our sustainability solution portfolio. This high-impact role requires domain expertise in sustainability and carbon accounting, strong judgment in navigating regulatory ambiguity, and the ability to define clear, differentiated narratives in a complex and evolving market.
You will operate as a senior GTM decision-maker, shaping positioning, messaging, and market plays that directly influence revenue performance and field execution. Partnering closely with Product, Sales, Partnerships, Enablement, and Revenue Marketing, you will ensure Workiva brings cohesive, customer-centric sustainability solutions to market while maintaining clarity and focus across the organization.
Define and evolve the GTM strategy for Workiva’s sustainability solutions, aligning customer needs, regulatory drivers, and business priorities
Make informed tradeoffs and prioritization decisions to focus GTM efforts on the highest-impact opportunities
Lead ongoing customer and field research to understand workflows, buying triggers, objections, and unmet needs across sustainability, finance, and assurance stakeholders
Synthesize insights from customer interviews, win/loss analysis, field feedback, and regulatory developments into actionable GTM recommendations
Develop differentiated solution positioning and messaging across sustainability, carbon, and adjacent platform capabilities
Partner with Product to translate customer, field, and regulatory insights into roadmap influence, shaping feature prioritization and sequencing to maximize GTM impact
Define launch narratives, messaging frameworks, and success criteria in partnership with Product, Revenue Marketing, and Sales Enablement
Partner closely with Revenue Marketing, Demand, and Sales Enablement to ensure GTM strategy is translated into effective market activation
Lead rapid experimentation to test messaging, value propositions, and GTM plays across sales and marketing channels
Contribute to thought leadership through webinars, blogs, presentations, customer stories, and industry events
Support analyst and customer engagements with strong narratives and market insight
What You'll Need
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field
10+ years of experience in product marketing or closely related roles that could include: product management, industry or corporate marketing, and sales
Preferred Qualifications
B2B marketing or product marketing experience in the SaaS industry; experience supporting sales channels strongly preferred
Deep understanding of sustainability and/or carbon accounting markets, including buyer personas and competitive dynamics
Familiarity with multi-solution SaaS platforms and platform-level GTM motions.
Demonstrated success influencing and collaborating with cross-functional leadership teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, Sales Operations, Enablement, and Customer Success
Experience using AI
Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences, from end users and buyers to senior executives
Experience analyzing pipeline, bookings, and revenue performance data to identify GTM opportunities and areas for optimization
Proven ability to innovate and optimize marketing strategies to deliver measurable business results
Exceptional communication, storytelling, and program management skills to drive initiatives forward with clarity and impact
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions:
Up to 40% travel
Reliable internet access for any period working remotely, not in a Workiva office
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $154,000.00 - $250,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
