This role manages the daily marketing operations and key campaign workflows, and ensures public relations and media relations, advertising, events, and direct response efforts are well coordinated, data-informed, and aligned with organizational priorities—particularly donor acquisition, retention, and fundraising goals.

Parallel to technical competence, recruitment & selection, hiring decisions will give due emphasis to assessing candidates’ eligibility, thorough background checks, police clearance, and professional reference check processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Lead the development and execution of marketing initiatives including  PR, advertising, events, and direct response campaigns, as well as donor communications, storytelling oversight, campaign alignment, data & analytics, brand strategy, vendor leadership, and workflow operations in alignment with brand and fundraising strategies.  
Manage the execution of a unified brand strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and participation.  
Implement strategic marketing and branding initiatives, including annual brand plans, brand positioning, communications efforts, and brand impact assessment.  
Manage creative development, in coordination with Director, Marketing, and execution, including market growth efforts, and direct response. 
Design and oversee the execution of advertising creative development and media purchasing strategies.  
Manage advertising execution across channels such as print, radio, TV, and digital, including media purchasing strategy, creative development, vendor leadership, timelines, and performance tracking.  
Manage PR and media relations efforts aligned with the overall brand strategy by coordinating pitches, interviews, press materials, and media monitoring, in collaboration with internal leadership and external vendors as needed.  
Oversee daily and mid-term creative development workflows, including branding, visual design, storytelling, copywriting, videography, photography, and creative reviews, ensuring consistency with brand standards.  
Manage the execution of direct response fundraising campaigns in partnership with associate marketing manager and external vendors, including timelines, creative approvals, and data and analytics reporting.  
Ensure campaign alignment by managing and coordinating marketing support for fundraising initiatives such as the monthly donor program, special events, annual report, Philanthropy collateral, market research, and more.  
Manage and track marketing budgets at the campaign and project level, support Marketing budget forecasting and reconciliation, and provide regular updates and reports.  
Ensure consistent articulation of brand voice, identity, and positioning across marketing materials through editorial guidance, production oversight, and distribution coordination.  
Uphold brand integrity, authenticity, and ethical storytelling across all marketing and communications platforms.  
Directly manage the Marketing team members by setting priorities, coaching, providing meaningful feedback, and supporting professional development.  
Manage relationships with external vendors (direct response, digital, creative, photography, videography, etc.), ensuring deliverables meet timelines, quality standards, and budgets.  
Ensure effective operation of marketing systems, workflows, and procedures, identifying and implementing process improvements that increase efficiency and clarity.  
Support the Director, Marketing with their industry partnerships and collaborations, as assigned, e.g. Integral, and Global Alliance.  
Drive cross-functional alignment with internal teams to support brand consistency and storytelling, integrating the donor experience across the full donor journey — ensuring Programs and brand/marketing assets are aligned, accurately represented, and rooted in our programmatic work. 


Other Duties:


Ensure the Safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassment, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding code of conduct and behavior expectations.
Ensure accountability is integrated into all aspects of work, including: project design and implementation; staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management; partnership agreements; and reporting.    
Utilize volunteers when appropriate.

QualificationsEDUCATION, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS 

Required:  


Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field or professional experience in a relevant field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred:  


Master’s degree in business (MBA)   


EXPERIENCE  

Required:  


Minimum 8 years’ marketing experience with progressively increasing responsibility 
Minimum 2 years’ experience managing direct reports   
Experience managing  the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns  
Non-profit fundraising experience  


Preferred: 


2 years’ experience in a marketing manager role 
Experience working in the humanitarian aid sector 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES  

 Knowledge:  


Solid foundation in marketing, branding, and donor communications, including campaign planning, messaging strategy, and content development  
Understanding of integrated marketing tactics across PR and media relations, advertising, events, and direct response channels

Strong leadership and team management skills, including mentoring and developing high- performance direct reports  
Proven ability to set and meet project goals, manage deadlines, and drive collaborative outcomes  
Effective cross-functional coordination with internal stakeholders) and external vendors  
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to professionalism in all interaction  
Strategic thinking balanced with tactical execution and attention to detail  
Self-starter with strong initiative and decision-making ability  
Skilled in organizing complex workflows and managing competing priorities.  
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (SharePoint and Teams)  
Experience with project management software ( Teamworks and Asana) and creative review tools ( GoVisually)  
Comfortable using CRM platforms and marketing performance dashboards for campaign tracking  
Familiarity with budget tracking and basic financial tools
