We are looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager to help build and scale vertical marketing programs that drive pipeline, improve sales relevance, and strengthen Upland’s position in priority industries.  

This role is ideal for a marketer with 5+ years of B2B SaaS experience who can  

translate product capabilities into industry specific messaging, campaigns, content, and sales enablement  that resonate with defined buyer audiences. 

You’ll succeed in this role if you’re comfortable working with autonomy, adapting to shifting priorities, and owning your work from start to finish. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Outline and execute go‑to‑market and demand generation initiatives aligned to defined audiences and sales priorities  
  • Develop vertical-specific marketing plans for priority industries, including target accounts, buyer personas, market trends, key pain points, value propositions, and campaign themes 
  • Partner with Sales, and Product Management to translate industry needs into clear vertical messaging, positioning, proof points, and sales plays 
  • Create industry-specific content and enablement assets, such as vertical landing pages, email sequences, one-pagers, talk tracks, pitch slides, webinar themes, and customer stories 
  • Use customer insights, win/loss feedback, competitive research, and campaign performance data to refine vertical programs and improve relevance with target buyers 
  • Translate product capabilities into clear, value‑driven messaging that supports buyer education and sales conversations  
  • Create high‑quality content across core channels, including:  
  • Website and landing pages 
  • Email and nurture campaigns 
  • One‑pagers, presentations, and sales enablement assets 
  • Social and paid campaign copy 
  • Design lightweight assets independently using Canva or similar tools  
  • Own marketing deliverables end-to-end, from brief to launch, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder alignment  
  • Partner closely with sales and product teams to align priorities, validate messaging, and support active opportunities  
  • Use AI powered tools to increase efficiency across content creation, campaign execution, and performance analysis, while applying strong judgment and brand standards 
  • Track campaign performance and apply learnings to improve future execution  
  • Support webinars, virtual events, and outbound campaigns as needed  
  • Communicate progress, risks, and next steps proactively in a remote, cross functional environment 

Requirements 

  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing role supporting revenue generation in enterprise SaaS 
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts  
  • Experience executing campaigns with tightly managed budgets  
  • Comfortable owning multiple initiatives simultaneously  
  • Strong organizational and project management skills  
  • Experience collaborating closely with sales and product teams  
  • Experience building or supporting vertical, industry, segment, or account-based marketing programs 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to feedback and shifting priorities 

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience running integrated campaigns and outbound programs that deliver results 
  • Familiar with Salesforce, 6sense, Wrike, and MAPs (e.g., Marketo) 
  • Strong writer who can simplify complex concepts 
  • Experience optimizing landing pages and paid ad performance 
  • Proficient with marketing and web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Power BI, etc.) 
  • Hands‑on experience designing assets in Canva  
  • Detail oriented with strong follow-through 
  • Comfortable working with product managers and sales to bring new features to market
