The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is hiring a part-time paid intern to support our design and marketing efforts while our graphic designer is on leave. Start date will be early- to mid-October, with an expected end date sometime in February. The Marketing & Graphic Design Intern reports to the Director of Marketing and primarily works remotely. Key accountabilities:
Design new graphics and materials upon request
Make requested edits to existing design materials for various departments
Place orders with local printers, coordinate deliveries, and follow up with staff to ensure receipt of orders
Support the PR department through daily tasks and special administrative projects, such as image library management and digital file housekeeping
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat; familiarity with Microsoft Office and Canva
Preference for current enrollment in or graduate of an accredited college, university, or other learning platform related to graphic design, visual communications, advertising, or a related field
Personal Adobe Creative Suite subscription and computer preferred, but please still apply if you would need either provided during your internship
Photography, video editing, motion graphics or CapCut experience is a plus
Experience in a professional work environment preferred, with strong comfort using Outlook, cloud-based file storage, and workplace communication tools
High attention to detail and desire to create process improvements in all aspects of work
Strong communication skills
A quick learner who values feedback
Capable of accepting and completing tasks with minimal supervision in a self-motivated manner
Demonstrated alignment with our mission, people-centered philosophy, and organizational values of compassion, respect, and kindness; innovation; professionalism; equity; and positive approach
Availability to work 15-20 hours per week during normal business hours, Monday through Friday
