It is building the first Biology Super Intelligence (BASI) by combining powerful biological large language models, multimodal patient data, and agentic software. At the heart of this system is Owkin K, an AI copilot and its new LLM fine-tuned on biology called Owkin Zero, used by researchers, clinicians, and drug developers to better understand biology, validate scientific hypotheses, and deliver better diagnostics and therapies faster.

This position is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover parental leave. It can be based in our Paris offices or remotely from France or UK

About the role:

The Marketing Director– Diagnostics (“Dx”) will help own brand management and is a key contributor to the success of the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and commercialization for Owkin Dx. You will drive the marketing & support commercial activities of Owkin Dx product messaging and positioning, project management, brand monitoring and development, omnichannel campaign management, and content and materials development of our diagnostic products. You’ll jump into a fast paced team, charged with evangelizing our products, solutions, clinical evidence and thought leadership in the areas of multimodal AI, digital pathology, precision testing, machine learning, cancer research, drug development, and breakthrough scientific collaborations oriented towards sector wide transformation of precision medicine. This role will focus efforts on marketing strategy and campaigns geared towards expanding awareness of AI-enabled precision tests for digital pathology, our specific product offering, and developing the community and network of stakeholders interested in deploying and using our products. 

This role works transversally across the Diagnostics team with close engagement with the product, medical, & commercial teams.

In particular, you will:

  • Deliver the global Dx Marketing and Communication strategy and plan, driving project and campaign management, and monitor reporting to the marketing OKRs & budget.
  • Support and maintain product positioning, messaging, and brand identity activities for Owkin Dx as a sub-brand and all product solutions offered across global markets.
  • Deliver and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns across website, digital media, adwords, promotional trade outlets, virtual events, and in-person engagements and conferences to expand awareness and cultivate leads and user traction for Owkin Dx products. 
  • Craft compelling content for category building, thought leadership, and product promotion with blogs, video, presentations, infographics and more.
  • Develop, update, and maintain product materials (Ie: sales enablement, tutorials, infographics, video, brochures, technical documents, CSM materials).
  • Valorize and leverage our research and science to targeted audiences to build credibility and traction with the clinician and medical research communities. 
  • Engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Primary Investigators (PIs) to create content, gather testimonials, or position them to speak at tradeshows. 
  • Maintain internal communication systems and materials to better promote the diagnostic unit and products to the rest of the company. 
  • Support our consortium and association engagements with website and materials development, and marketing campaign strategies. 
  • Optimize marketing opportunities through channel or distribution partners, maintain working relationships with external communication partners. 
  • Oversee the marketing materials approval process in conjunction with the RAQA requirements and software as a medical device certifications in all product markets. 
  • Develop reporting dashboards on campaign metrics to evaluate success and support planning and budget reconciliation.
  • Support with vendor and service management and benchmarking. Coordinate any RFP activities in accordance with procurement processes. 
  • Coordinate and optimize campaign associated lead generation and nurturing information into our CRM. 
  • Work with very different profiles: data scientists, key account managers, Product managers, sales, OPs, etc
  • Support in roll out of organization wide marketing initiatives.

About you

Our ideal Marketing Director will:

  • Have 6+ years experience in marketing in the life sciences, technology, AI diagnostic, or  medical devices industry, possibly gained in a clinical environment;
  • Demonstrate a highly adaptable, resourceful, and a fast learner with broad marketing experience across planning, product marketing, digital media, events, and commercial support, with fluency across marketing channels 
  • Be interested in developing your own (and trying new) creative approaches to communication;
  • Enjoy working in teams, building collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients and interacting with people of different backgrounds;
  • Have experience with project management and marketing tools and channels: social media, website management (ie: Wordpress), Hubspot, Adwords, Excel or Google Sheets, Asana;
  • Be a whiz with slide creation (Keynote, Google slides, Powerpoint), and have a keen eye for grammar and detail; 
  • Be a strong communicator, a native English speaker, with excellent oral and written skills; French language skills are a bonus. 
  • Excel as a brand ambassador, weaving our brand elements across our engagements intuitively and consistently;
  • Bring personal attributes that include being hands-on, experienced, proactive, independent, articulate and possess a good sense of humor, integrity and professionalism; 
  • Have a fascination with innovative research and Artificial Intelligence, the future of clinical research, diagnostics, and medicine and passion for solving the biggest problems in health. 

Preferred qualifications/bonus: 

  • Relevant marketing or communications qualifications;
  • A general understanding of the health sector, medical affairs, diagnostic industry, ideally within oncology; 
  • Basic knowledge or interest of Machine Learning and/or biological science.
