Role Overview

The Growth Marketing team leads acquisition and engagement for FreeWill’s consumer audience. We’re looking for an experienced SEO & Growth Marketing Contractor to step in during a team member’s parental leave to maintain and execute key marketing initiatives, ensure smooth reporting, and protect organic performance.

The Interim SEO & Growth Marketing Contractor will manage all organic and paid consumer-facing (B2C) marketing initiatives for FreeWill across the entire marketing funnel, including email, Google Ads, SEO/AEO, with a specific emphasis on email marketing. They will manage the consumer marketing budget, provide regular monthly and quarterly reporting, and collaborate with engineering, design, product, and business development teams to execute special projects.

**This role will be a 5 month contract position. The compensation for this role will be 77 CAD per hour (55 USD per hour) working approximately 20+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage existing email marketing campaigns, set up new campaigns to support new product initiatives, and answer questions from internal teams about campaigns as needed
  • Monitor and report on keyword rankings, traffic trends, and performance of priority landing pages
  • Coordinate with an existing SEO contractor to oversee technical SEO maintenance, including 301 redirects, schema markup, and troubleshooting crawling/indexing issues.
  • Maintain FreeWill’s Learn Center (blog) — draft, revise, update, and publish posts based on existing keyword strategy, in coordination with an existing SEO contractor.
  • Manage existing Google Ads contractor and monitor performance of paid search campaigns
  • Explore and execute on new consumer marketing initiatives as needed (e.g., Reddit)

Reporting & Analytics

  • Compile quarterly performance reports in Google Slides for leadership
  • Pull monthly reporting from Google Analytics, SEMrush, and Looker to track spend and performance across marketing tactics
  • Surface and troubleshoot anomalies or areas of concern (ranking drops, traffic fluctuations, etc)

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in digital marketing and content creation, including managing and optimizing advertising and SEM budgets.
  • Proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and SEMrush.
  • Familiarity with Webflow CMS.
  • Experience setting up and overseeing automated Customer Lifecycle Marketing email campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of on-page and technical SEO fundamentals.
  • Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Technical understanding of HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with Customer.io.
  • Knowledge of estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate.
  • Experience with Reddit/Quora advertising and organic engagement.
