Job Summary:

The Head of Marketing leads the development and execution of the marketing strategy at Commerce7. This role blends strategic planning and leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing all aspects of marketing while mentoring a high-performing team.

You will be responsible for shaping the company’s narrative, driving demand generation, and positioning Commerce7 as the top choice for ambitious wineries globally. Working closely with the VP of Growth and VP of Sales, you will ensure marketing initiatives align with company objectives and contribute directly to growth.

This role is ideal for a marketing leader who is both strategic and creative, with exceptional communication skills and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to bring campaigns and initiatives to life.

  • Lead and mentor the marketing team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture grounded in curiosity, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute Commerce7’s marketing strategy, including brand positioning, demand generation (including paid ads), and market expansion to support company growth and revenue objectives.
  • Leverage AI and modern marketing technologies to increase content output, improve operational efficiency, and support international scale without significantly increasing headcount.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Partnerships, and Customer Experience teams to align messaging, campaigns, and go-to-market initiatives that support revenue growth, product adoption, and a consistent customer journey.
  • Ensure brand consistency and quality across all channels and touchpoints, including campaigns, events, digital platforms, and promotional materials.
  • Analyze and report on marketing performance across channels, synthesizing data from multiple sources to identify trends, clarify what is working, and uncover opportunities for optimization. Mentor the team in using insights to improve campaign effectiveness and audience engagement.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to inform marketing strategy and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Own and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively across campaigns, programs, and channels to maximize marketing impact and return on investment.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure marketing effectiveness and use insights to guide strategy and support quarterly and annual company planning.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, including agencies, designers, and developers, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment with marketing objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of marketing experience preferably within SaaS organizations leading a marketing team
  • Proven success in a senior marketing leadership role, preferably within a B2B SaaS or technology environment
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring small teams.
  • Expertise in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working across organizational levels.
  • A proven track record of leveraging AI and modern marketing technologies to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance marketing performance.
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or similar marketing automation platforms.
  • Experience in the wine industry or working with winery clients is considered a strong asset.
  • The ability and willingness to travel as required by business needs.
