We’re looking for Independent Assessors/IQAs to join us in assessing the following apprenticeship standards:
- Multi-Channel Marketer (Level 3)
- Marketing Assistant (Level 3)
- Marketing Executive (Level 4)
- Marketing Manager (Level 6)
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a relevant qualification and substantial experience working in the marketing sector.
Assessments are carried out primarily remotely, via video calling. It can be done from anywhere in the UK as long as you have a computer, webcam and strong internet connection. The assessments include a project with questioning and a professional discussion based on a portfolio of evidence.
This is a flexible position that you can work from home, choosing your own hours (within office hours).
The IQA role involves:
- Reviewing assessors’ justifications for assessment
- Confirming final grading
- Providing feedback on assessment quality, processes and procedures
The assessor role involves:
- Marking submitted evidence using a defined assessment plan and grading criteria
- Making sound judgements about the standard of the apprentice’s knowledge and competence
- Providing robust feedback to the apprentice and arriving at an overall grade
- Attending standardisation meetings twice annually
- Working as part of the 1st for Awarding assessment team

The ideal candidate will have the following:
Essential

Recent, relevant experience in the marketing profession – working at or above the level of the apprenticeship you’ll be assessing (within the last 3 years, or with substantial, proven experience if earlier).

A relevant marketing qualification at least at the same level as the apprenticeship standard (or higher).

Strong understanding of marketing practice, with the credibility to assess apprentices fairly and consistently.

Able to plan your own schedule and commit to agreed times/bookings

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Able to attend two standardisation activities per year
Desirable

Experience working as an Independent Assessor, coach or tutor

Grading experience
- A good understanding of apprenticeship standards

Prevent and safeguarding training

Assessor/IQA qualifications (e.g. CAVA, TAQA, Award in Undertaking EPA, A1)
