We run a portfolio of performance-led DTC brands scaling fast across the US and international markets. We move quickly, test constantly, and win on strong creative and disciplined execution — and email plus CRM is one of our highest-leverage retention channels. We're looking for a technically strong Email Marketing Specialist to be the hands-on builder behind our Retention team's strategy in Klaviyo. This is a technical execution role: our Retention team sets the strategy and flow directives, copywriters supply the copy, and Marketing Operations owns the campaign calendar. You own the backend — building flows, wiring up triggers and integrations, managing data and deliverability, and making sure every automation fires exactly as intended. Strategy is collaborative — you'll work closely with the Retention and Growth leads and are always welcome to brainstorm and help shape ideas together.
What You'll Be Doing
Klaviyo & CRM Technical Build
•   Build and set up flows and campaigns in Klaviyo based on directives from the Retention team
•   Configure the CRM technical layer — triggers, events, flow filters, and conditional/branch splitting — so each journey fires on the right behavior at the right moment
•   Dynamic personalization — use Liquid, event/profile properties, and dynamic blocks to personalize content, and build responsive templates with light HTML/CSS
•   Data & integrations — manage the Shopify ↔ Klaviyo ↔ Salesforce data sync, custom properties, catalog/data feeds, and webhooks/API or connectors so events and audiences flow correctly across tools
•   Deliverability infrastructure — maintain sender authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and sending-domain health, plus list hygiene and sunset logic to protect inbox placement
•   Subscription setup — wire up subscription-app events and flows (activation, rebill, cancellation, win-back) to support retention
•   Implement provided copy — drop copywriter-supplied copy into clean, mobile-ready templates and make backend adjustments to match the purpose of each flow/campaign
Campaign Execution & Calendar
•   Execute the email calendar, which aligns with the paid-media sales calendar set by Marketing Operations (in collaboration with Retention)
•   Build, QA, and schedule campaigns end-to-end: links, personalization, rendering, and error checks before every send
•   Set up segmentation per Retention directives rather than blasting full lists by default
•   Coordinate closely with Retention, copy, and Growth so email execution supports the wider plan
Testing & Reporting
•   Set up and run A/B tests as directed by the Head of Growth / Retention leads, structured cleanly for reliable reads
•   Track and report execution metrics — sends launched, deliverability, engagement — so Retention has clear data to optimize against
•   Flag issues and opportunities you spot; ideas are always welcome in team brainstorms
•   Proven Klaviyo experience — hands-on building flows, segments, and campaigns from scratch, including advanced flow logic (triggers, filters, conditional splits)
•   Dynamic content & templating — comfortable with Liquid, dynamic/personalization tags, and light HTML/CSS for building and troubleshooting responsive email templates
•   Data & integrations — understands events, custom properties, and syncing data across Shopify, Klaviyo, and a CRM; familiar with webhooks, APIs, or connectors (e.g. Zapier/Make)
•   Deliverability fundamentals — knows sender authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), list hygiene, and how to protect inbox placement
•   Salesforce (or comparable CRM) — confident on the technical/data side: field mapping, syncing, and keeping data clean
•   Subscription know-how — experience with subscription apps and the rebill/retention mechanics behind a subscription DTC model
•   Strong execution & attention to detail — takes directives and builds them accurately, cleanly, and on time
•   Experience with DTC or ecommerce brands, ideally on Shopify
•   Work at the technical heart of a high-leverage retention channel across a fast-scaling, multi-brand portfolio
•   Collaborative environment — strategy is shaped together, and you're welcome to brainstorm with Retention and Growth leads
•   A fast-paced team with no red tape — decisions happen quickly and good ideas ship
•   Learn directly from experienced Retention and Growth leads
•   Room to grow into a broader retention/lifecycle marketing role as the portfolio scales
