COMPANY OVERVIEW

Small Business Consulting Corporation (SBCC) is a growth partner to defense and dualuse technology organizations, helping bridge innovative commercial solutions into mission-critical environments. We specialize in translating cutting-edge capabilities into deployable outcomes for government and enterprise customers, with deep experience supporting the Department of Defense-particularly the United States Air Force.

Our team brings together operators, strategists, educators, and technology founders who understand both the speed of commercial innovation and the complexity of national security markets. SBCC's mission is simple: put transformative solutions into the hands of those who need them most. Headquartered in Bossier City, Louisiana, SBCC is expanding its footprint across commercial and dual-use markets.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Marketing will lead the development of SBCC's external presence, engagement strategy, and marketing infrastructure to support growth across defense and industry ecosystems.

You will design and execute practical marketing playbooks across key areas including account engagement, industry outreach, event strategy, and content development. This role will also own the marketing technology stack and help introduce greater rigor, consistency, and measurability into how SBCC engages with Defense, Federal, and Commercial partners and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder and operator. We are looking for someone who can create structure where little exists today, execute alongside a lean team, and translate high-level objectives into actionable campaigns and systems. Experience with account-based marketing (ABM) is valuable, but success in this role will depend more on the ability to operationalize marketing, drive external engagement, and support relationship-based growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Strategy & External Engagement

  • Build and scale SBCC's external marketing presence, including messaging, content, and channels which attract and engage industry partners and stakeholders in a proactive approach
  • Develop clear materials with compelling narratives which communicate how companies can work with SBCC and further communicate SBCC's value proposition and offerings
  • Establish a proactive, repeatable external engagement model through structured outreach plans, playbooks, and partnership strategies

Demand Generation & Campaigns

  • Design and execute integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, content, events, and partnerships) to generate and convert inbound demand
  • Define and own SBCC's event strategy, including selection, objectives, ROI, and success metrics
  • Leverage ecosystem partnerships and industry networks to expand reach into priority, commercial and emerging markets and accounts
  • Establish SBCC as a trusted thought partner in the defense innovation and commercial technology ecosystem, not just a services provider
  • Ensure all external-facing materials reflect a cohesive, professional, and differentiated brand identity
  • Manage an annual event calendar aligned to business priorities

Marketing Operations & Technology

  • Own and optimize the marketing technology stack, including CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Build and implement scalable processes for contact management, outreach tracking, lead scoring, and campaign execution
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency (social, communications, reporting)

Analytics & Performance Measurement

  • Establish reporting frameworks that provide visibility into marketing activity, engagement, attribution, and conversion across long sales cycles
  • Connect marketing efforts to pipeline and revenue outcomes, including in relationship-driven environments

Leadership & Team Development

  • Operate as a highly autonomous leader in a lean environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution
  • Manage and mentor a small, high-impact marketing team
  • Build and scale foundational marketing capabilities with speed, discipline, and adaptability

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in B2B, commercial, or ABM-focused marketing roles
  • Demonstrated success building and executing account-based marketing programs tied to revenue outcomes
  • Experience driving growth in long-cycle, complex sales environments (e.g., enterprise, dual-use tech, defense, or industrial markets)
  • Proven ability to translate technical offerings into compelling market-facing narratives
  • Strong experience with CRM, marketing automation, and pipeline analytics

Preferred

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree
  • Experience supporting commercial expansion for dual-use or defense-adjacent technologies
  • Background in sales enablement, capture strategy, or business development alignment
  • Familiarity with security-conscious environments and marketing constraints

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Builder mindset with demonstrated ability to create structure and scale marketing functions in early or growth-stage environments
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and adapting quickly in fast-moving, high-growth settings
  • Strategic and commercially oriented, with a strong focus on execution and measurable outcomes
  • Ability to connect marketing efforts to pipeline and revenue, particularly in relationship-driven environments
  • Strong understanding of account-based marketing, long sales cycles, and enterprise buying dynamics
  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
  • Exceptional communicator, able to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Strong judgment and professionalism in high-visibility external engagements

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL

  • Remote work environment
  • Travel <10% (primarily industry events and strategic account engagement)
