Want to help everyday Americans invest and build wealth? Financial inequality is increasing, and too many people are getting left behind. At Stash, we are passionate about democratizing wealth creation through education, advice, and products that help customers achieve greater financial freedom.
We’re looking for a Director of Acquisition Marketing to lead the next chapter of Stash’s customer growth.
This leader will own the strategy, performance, and optimization of our acquisition engine, defining how millions of potential customers discover Stash and begin their investing journey.
You’ll lead performance marketing across channels including paid social, search, affiliate, mobile app platforms, and offline media such as TV and podcasts, while building a disciplined experimentation engine that improves CAC and drives sustainable depositor growth.
This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You’ll set the direction for growth, partner with senior leadership on acquisition strategy, and work closely with cross-functional teams across Product, Creative, Data, and Martech to turn insights into measurable impact.
You’ll report to the VP of Growth, manage internal team members and agency partners, and play a critical role in shaping how Stash reaches and converts the next generation of investors.
What you'll do:
Own and scale customer acquisition
Lead Stash’s end-to-end acquisition strategy across paid social, search, affiliate, app install campaigns, offline media (TV, audio, podcasts), and emerging channels
Optimize channel mix and performance to drive efficient CAC and long-term customer value
Identify new growth opportunities across emerging channels and platforms
Lead mobile-first growth
Drive mobile app acquisition strategy, including app install campaigns and app store optimization
Improve conversion and activation across the mobile acquisition funnel
Partner closely with Product and lifecycle teams to optimize onboarding and early customer engagement
Build a high-performance experimentation engine
Establish scalable testing frameworks across media, creative, and messaging
Run disciplined experiments across targeting, bidding, and creative formats
Continuously iterate to improve performance and unlock new growth levers
Strengthen measurement and attribution
Partner with Data and Martech to evolve attribution, incrementality testing, and media mix modeling
Ensure measurement frameworks enable smarter budget allocation and clear performance accountability
Translate insights into actionable strategy for leadership
Apply AI to modern growth marketing
Identify and implement AI-driven tools and workflows that accelerate campaign development, reporting, and optimization
Leverage emerging technologies for creative generation, analytics automation, and marketing operations
Lead teams and agency partnerships
Manage internal growth team members and collaborate closely with external agency partners across multiple channels
Develop the roadmap to build and scale more in-house acquisition capabilities over time
Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation, and measurable outcomes
What we're looking for:
8+ years of experience in performance marketing or growth marketing
Proven experience owning multi-channel acquisition strategy (paid social, search, affiliate, mobile, and offline media)
Strong expertise in mobile app marketing, including app install campaigns and performance optimization
Demonstrated experience improving CAC efficiency and acquisition scalability
Experience leading cross-functional growth initiatives with Product, Data, and Creative teams
Experience managing agency relationships and internal performance marketing teams
Gold Stars
