We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Director of International Omnichannel Marketing, who will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Ascendis Endocrinology portfolio is successfully launched and accessible in our target international markets.

In this role, you will build and own the international strategy and execution of our digital marketing technology ecosystem. You will be responsible for optimizing the performance, integration, and adoption of our digital platforms to support omnichannel marketing, sales enablement, and customer engagement initiatives across all regions.

You will report to the Head of International Strategic Marketing and work closely with InternationalMedical Affairs and Market Access to bring impactful, data-driven strategies to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Define and lead our digital platform strategy in alignment with Ascendis’ commercial objectives, customer engagement goals, and brand positioning.
    • Serve as a digital thought leader and change agent across the organization, advocating for best practices and future-forward innovations.
    • Develop and maintain a multi-year digital roadmap and capability maturity model, ensuring scalability and readiness for future business needs.
  • Ā Platform & Ecosystem Management
    • Build/Own the strategy, performance, and continuous improvement of the digital marketing tech stack
    • Drive system integration initiatives in partnership with IT, ensuring seamless data flow across marketing, sales, and customer platforms.
    • Establish governance frameworks, standards, and documentation to ensure platform consistency, compliance, and scalability.
  • Ā Data & Analytics
    • Lead efforts to establish a unified view of the customer by maximizing data integrity, integrating first- and third-party data sources, and enabling real-time segmentation.
    • Oversee development of executive-level dashboards and actionable reporting aligned with KPIs, ROI, and campaign performance metrics.
    • Translate complex data insights into strategic marketing recommendations.
  • Ā Digital Campaign Enablement
    • Partner with communications & brand marketing teams to support campaign planning and execution, providing digital expertise, tools, and support to drive effectiveness.
    • Oversee management of paid media and search marketing campaigns in collaboration with agency partners.
    • Champion digital best practices across SEO, personalization, lead nurturing, and omnichannel orchestration.
  • Ā Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
    • Collaborate with regional marketing, medical, regulatory, and commercial excellence teams to deliver cohesive digital strategies.
    • Act as primary liaison with IT for system integration, security, and platform roadmap alignment.
    • Manage relationships with key external vendors and agencies to ensure optimal delivery and innovation.
  • Team Leadership
    • Provide mentorship and functional leadership to digital teams and other stakeholders, fostering a culture of digital excellence and performance marketing.
    • Serve as a key contributor to digital upskilling efforts across the marketing organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, IT, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing
  • Proven expertise in leading marketing technology ecosystems (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce, Sitecore/Drupal, Google Marketing Platform)
  • Strong analytical background with a proven ability to translate data into business insight
  • Experience in platform integration and working cross-functionally with IT and commercial teams
  • Advanced knowledge of digital channels including SEO/SEM, email, display, social media, and content marketing
  • Proven experience in endocrinology, rare diseases and/or specialty pharmaceuticals is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Formal certifications in digital marketing platforms or project management are desirable

Location & Work Environment:
The role should be based in UK, Spain, Germany or Denmark. This is expected to be a remote role that may require some travel to Copenhagen Head Office and international partner markets, participation in industry conferences, and meetings with stakeholders (~30%). Flexibility in work hours may be necessary to accommodate global time zones.
