Job Description:

Title:                Director, Events Marketing Strategy

Location:         Remote – USA

Reports to:       Chief Marketing Officer

The Role:
The Director, Events Marketing Strategy is responsible for shaping and leading a commercially driven, enterprise-wide events strategy that strengthens brand authority, deepens market engagement, and delivers measurable revenue, margin, and pipeline impact. As a member of the Global Marketing Leadership Team, this role will help define the strategic direction of the function, elevate events marketing as a core lever of growth, and ensure the portfolio is aligned to broader business, brand, and commercial priorities.

Marketing is organized as an integrated global function, led through four core pillars: Brand & Content; Growth Marketing, including demand generation and product marketing; Marketing Operations; and Events Marketing Strategy. This structure is complemented by four Commercial Divisions, each led by a Commercial Marketing Lead who is part of the broader Marketing organization and accountable for driving market relevance, commercial alignment, and marketing impact within their Division.

The Impact You Will Have:

You will play a pivotal role in advancing enterprise growth and brand leadership by establishing the events portfolio as a strategic commercial lever for the business. With end-to-end accountability for performance, this role will shape revenue generation, margin delivery, pipeline contribution, and long-term brand value, ensuring events deliver measurable outcomes aligned to corporate priorities.

This role will position events marketing as a core component of the go-to-market strategy, translating brand and product positioning into high-impact experiences that strengthen market credibility, deepen customer and partner engagement, and support sustained demand creation across regions and sectors.

Through disciplined financial leadership, rigorous performance management, and strong cross-functional influence, the Director, Events Marketing Strategy will build a scalable, best-in-class events marketing capability—driving consistency, accountability, and return on investment while setting the standard for brand expression and commercial excellence across the organization.

You will bring JD Power’s product story to life through experience-led engagement—demonstrating the real-world impact our solutions deliver for customers. By translating product value into compelling narratives and meaningful experiences, this role will help audiences clearly understand how our data and insights drive better decisions, stronger performance, and measurable outcomes for their organizations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Set and lead a commercially driven global events strategy that delivers revenue growth, pipeline contribution, and brand value.
  • Own the end-to-end events portfolio, with clear accountability for strategy, execution, performance measurement, and optimization, including senior-level internal events.
  • Hold full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability across all event programs.
  • Define and embed a cohesive brand strategy for events, ensuring consistent, high impact brand expression across markets and audiences.
  • Develop and monetize event propositions, owning all revenue streams including sponsorship, ticketing, and any partner investment.
  • Ensure events are fully integrated into the go-to-market strategy, working closely with Brand, Growth Marketing, Sales, and Commercial Marketing Leads to drive demand and pipeline outcomes.
  • Establish and report against clear performance metrics, including revenue, margin, sponsorship yield, brand impact, and ROI.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing events team and partner ecosystem, ensuring best-in-class delivery.

Ensure a consistent global approach to division-led events while enabling local relevance and scalable growth across markets. In this model, Commercial Marketing Leads within each Division will own and deliver their division-led events, with Global Marketing providing strategic guidance, shared standards, tools, and support to drive quality, consistency, and commercial impact across the portfolio.

Leadership:

  • Provide strong strategic leadership to the team, setting a clear vision, raising the bar on performance, and ensuring priorities, accountability, and outcomes are aligned to business goals.
  • Build and develop a high-calibre team, with a strong focus on growth, succession, and capability building to meet both current priorities and future business needs.
  • Create an environment of high-performance and continuous development through coaching, clear expectations, timely feedback, and meaningful stretch opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative, enterprise-minded culture that encourages ownership, innovation, and shared accountability for delivering commercial impact.

Qualifications of this Role:

  • Experience in commercially successful, brand‑led events with clear revenue and ROI outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with proven P&L ownership and experience managing complex budgets and revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate brand strategy into compelling narratives and experiences that influence perception and behavior.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.
  • Ability to manage multiple high‑value programs in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining financial and brand control.
  • Commercially minded, results‑driven, and focused on delivering high‑impact, on‑brand experiences that support business growth.

This position has a starting salary range of $120,000 - 160,000 USD per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employee’s pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
