Your Role:

As a vital member of the Performance Marketing & Channel Operations Team within the Digital Marketing organization of the Process Solutions business at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, the Digital Marketing (DM) Manager, Social Media, will play a dual role that encompasses both strategic planning and hands-on execution. This position will be instrumental in shaping and implementing effective social media strategies that align with business goals while managing the daily operations of social media campaigns. The person in this position will need to be agile in their approach while they manage campaign optimization, budget, audience targeting, ad creative development, and reporting on performance and outcomes.

 

The DM Manager, Social Media, will engage in extensive collaboration with various teams within Process Solutions, as well as with partners from other business units. This role will require strong communication and project management skills to ensure high impact of social media initiatives and to maximize the channel’s capabilities. This individual will need to be at the forefront of channel trends and advancements in technology. By balancing strategic oversight with operational execution, the DM Manager will help elevate the Process Solutions product offering and achieve measurable results in the dynamic landscape of social media marketing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary point of contact for Paid Social - sharing deep knowledge, best practices and channel governance with key stakeholders & partners.
  • Participate in campaign planning meetings, ensuring an effective & efficient cross-channel Digital Marketing approach and processes.
  • Have strong understanding of business targets and campaign goals that will be leveraged as you translate into efficient campaign setups.
  • Act as an owner on financial tasks, like planning, managing and reporting budget and Spendings. Plan with data at the core, forecast to expected output striving for pin-point LTV & CAC based budgets. Set expectations with all relevant partners.
  • Foster strong partnerships with Social Account Team and leverage resources available to us to streamline our planning as well as overall execution.
  • Influence and at times develop campaign assets such as keyword lists, ad copy, visual ad creative, audience targeting and drive webpage enhancements required to meet campaign objectives.
  • Partner with Digital & eCommerce (D&eC) for executing and enhancing paid social capabilities. Find synergies between the teams to magnify impact and learn from one another’s activities.
  • Lead A/B testing efforts to further optimize and impact the channel can have on overall DM campaigns
  • Define and track Paid Social KPIs & targets for Process Solutions.
  • Be the owner of channel optimization for Paid Social. Track and monitor campaign performance according to required cadence. Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement ongoing improvements.
  • Work with PS & D&eC Analytics teams to establish and maintain self-serve reports & dashboards for adequate monitoring of the campaign.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to implement conversion and webpage tracking critical to the success of campaigns.

 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field. 
  • 5-7+ years of experience in managing the Paid Social digital marketing channel, preferably in B2B or life sciences environments. 
  • Proficiency in Sprinklr, LinkedIn, Meta, Youtube, Google Analytics, and other relevant digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities to derive insights from data and drive strategic decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept at presenting complex ideas in an understandable manner.
  • Experience with conversion rate optimization, landing page optimization & A/B testing.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience managing significant Paid Social budgets with a focus on ROI.

 

Role can be located anywhere in the US or Europe

 

Pay Range for this position: $86,3000- $153,500. The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
