Job Summary

As a Commercial Marketing Director - North America, you will be responsible for marketing, awareness, and demand generation for the commercial channel, including Education, SMB and enterprise vertical markets. You will work very closely with the channel partners and Acer sales, product management and marketing teams to support and accelerate commercial field marketing activities. This role is responsible for joint marketing plans, programs, commercial demand generation, partner launch activities, partner event management, sales promotions, partner communications, and program adoption. This position owns US commercial marketing MDF budgets and will be expected to accurately manage those budgets.

Job Responsibility

This position will focus on strategizing, conceiving and implementing Commercial and Channel marketing programs to support Acer's overall indirect sales strategy. Will work with Acer America sales and marketing teams to ensure successful implementation of programs and policies with identified partners.

 

  • Lead and develop a high-performing commercial/channel marketing team, providing direction, coaching, and prioritization to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Drive team accountability for execution, performance, and continuous improvement across all partner marketing programs
  • Lead execution of distribution and DMR commercial marketing programs, including performance tracking, reporting, and end-to-end invoicing processes
  • Partner directly with commercial channel stakeholders to develop and execute joint marketing plans, including strategic allocation of MDF to drive measurable ROI
  • Evaluate partner-led events and initiatives, providing strategic recommendations to maximize engagement and business impact
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing teams to ensure alignment and integration with broader commercial marketing strategies
  • Monitor and optimize program performance to ensure alignment with Acer’s overall revenue and sales objectives
  • Gather, analyze, and translate commercial data into actionable insights to inform strategic decision-making, including: program performance vs. budget and revenue targets, partner purchasing behavior and sales trends, and market channel performance patterns
  • Establish and implement scalable processes, policies, and governance frameworks to ensure effective execution of commercial programs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for channel partners regarding program execution, communication, and issue resolution
  • Partner with sales leadership to communicate program strategy, drive field alignment, and support execution across commercial teams
  • Work closely with finance and accounting to ensure accurate and timely processing of MDF claims, invoicing, and program-related financial activities

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in channel, partner, or commercial marketing within a technology or OEM environment
  • Proven success managing MDF budgets and partner marketing programs with measurable ROI
  • Strong understanding of VAR, distribution, and DMR channel ecosystems
  • Demonstrated ability to drive demand generation through indirect sales channels
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams
  • Background in PC hardware, devices, or enterprise technology
  • Experience supporting Education, SMB, and Enterprise segments
  • Familiarity with major distributors

 

Location & Travel

 

  • Preference for candidates based locally in the San Francisco Bay Area (or near Acer America offices)
  • Remote candidates will be considered; however, approximately 50% travel is expected during the initial ramp-up period to build relationships, align with cross-functional teams, and gain familiarity with internal processes and partner ecosystems
