Description
The Vice President, Marketing & Mobilization (externally designated as the Chief Mobilization Officer) leads Medical Teams International’s brand, communications, and public engagement strategy—mobilizing people to give, go, and advocate for the life-saving health care that human dignity requires.
This executive leader brings creative vision and disciplined execution to translate organizational strategy into powerful public engagement—ensuring the systems, teams, and resources are in place to drive breakout and sustained growth in brand strength, audience reach, and philanthropic engagement. The Vice President, Marketing & Mobilization oversees all aspects of brand, marketing, communications, church engagement, and mobilization, ensuring that how Medical Teams presents itself to private donors, institutional partners, implementing partners, and the people we serve is unified, credible, and deeply aligned with our mission and values.
The Chief Mobilization Officer title is used externally to position this leader for success in representing Medical Teams with donors, churches, and public partners at the highest levels.

Scope of Leadership
- Primary Accountability: Brand, marketing, communications, church engagement, and mobilization
- Core Teams Supervised: Marketing, Communications, Brand & Creative, Digital, Church Engagement & Mobilization (and future Volunteer/Advocacy functions)
- Collaborative Partnerships: Works in close alignment with the Vice President of Philanthropy (Chief Advancement Officer) to integrate storytelling and audience experience across supporter journeys and Global Programs to ensure our brand and marketing assets are aligned with, faithfully represent, and are foundationally grounded in our front-line, programmatic work.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Stewardship
- Lead the development of a unified marketing and mobilization strategy to drive awareness, engagement, and participation at scale.
- Shape and govern the enterprise communications architecture—aligning message, tone, and visual identity across fundraising, programs, and institutional relations.
- Align resources, structure, and staff capabilities to achieve breakout growth and operational excellence.
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to define enterprise priorities and metrics for audience and revenue growth.
- (Future) Build scalable systems to expand mobilization into volunteer, intern, and advocacy channels in the near term.
Marketing, Communications & Brand
- Oversee all mass marketing, brand, and communications functions across digital, social, print, and media channels.
- Drive audience acquisition, engagement, and retention to achieve measurable and breakout growth in participation and giving.
- Lead public relations, thought leadership, and reputation management.
- Ensure brand integrity, authenticity, and ethical storytelling across all platforms.
- Oversee the annual impact report, campaigns, and executive communications.
Brand Leadership & Organizational Communications
- Serve as the organizational owner of the Medical Teams brand, ensuring its clarity, consistency, and credibility across every audience—internal and external.
- Partner with Program leadership to strengthen the visibility and positioning of Medical Teams with institutional, government, and multilateral donors.
- Lead the development of enterprise brand guidelines and train global teams to apply them in field communications, proposals, and public representation.
- Ensure that global and domestic programs, operations, and advocacy efforts all communicate a coherent story of Medical Teams’ impact and identity.
- Oversee executive and organizational communications—including internal messaging, thought leadership, and external visibility for senior leaders.
- Build brand capacity across the organization, equipping staff, partners, and volunteers to represent Medical Teams’ mission with clarity and integrity.
Church Engagement & Mobilization
- Lead institutional engagement with the Church, building partnerships with pastors, denominations, and congregations.
- Develop scalable models, resources, and services to mobilize churches toward prayer, volunteering, and advocacy, deepening collective impact.
- Coordinate with Programs, HR, and Global Teams to expand mobilization pathways for volunteers and interns.
- Ensure alignment between faith-based engagement and overall organizational mission and values.
Team & Culture Leadership
- Build and lead a creative, high-performing team equipped to deliver sustained growth.
- Manage a multi-million-dollar marketing budget with strong fiscal discipline and measurable ROI.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration across all functions.

Experience
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including 10 years of progressive management and executive leadership experience in marketing, as well as communications, mobilization, and/or engagement.
- Proven success driving breakout and sustained growth in engagement or revenue through integrated marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in marketing or product development with a strong understanding of brand and audience development.
- Demonstrated experience building or managing an organizational brand that spans diverse audiences and geographies, including programmatic and institutional funders.
- Experience supporting communications for government, UN, or multilateral partnerships preferred.
- Experience building and scaling marketing, creative, digital, and/or mobilization teams.

- Strong expertise in market data and research, audience segmentation, digital ecosystems, and brand storytelling.

Ensure the Safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassment, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding code of conduct and behavior expectations.
Work Environment & Travel
- This position may be remote with periodic travel to headquarters, and field offices (up to 25%).
- The role may require international travel to remote or resource-limited settings.
- Must be able to work flexible hours across time zones.
Salary Range: Please note that the typical hiring range is $170,000 - $180,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity
